Pinpoint
Say it on the site. Not in your inbox.
Drop a note on the element you clicked; your team stays in the same context.
Beta: Workspace access opens after approval.
Feedback is no longer a single email thread
Email and Slack are still the default for many teams. When someone says "that button," which button? Staging or production? Mobile or desktop? Context gets buried in messages; the thread never really closes.
Screenshots go stale. They point to the wrong place on different breakpoints. Figma comments do not live on the site you actually ship.
Pinpoint collects feedback on the real web page. Structured notes tied to the element you clicked, with open and closed status. No embed code on your site; no email chain.
Site-First Feedback
Site-First Feedback means giving feedback in the live context of the target URL. Not in a static image or a scattered message.
When a stakeholder says "the hero CTA is too small," the developer sees the selector, text snippet, and viewport in one note. Mark it resolved when done; reopen if needed. You do not maintain a screenshot archive by hand.
How it works end to end
Panel, site review, and board. Short recordings show the flow.

How do I get a workspace?
During the Pinpoint beta, not everyone can create a workspace directly inside the app. Request access first; after approval you sign in with your account or join via invite.
- Download the app (macOS or Windows).
- Send a Pinpoint workspace request through our contact form: include your team name, use case, and work email.
- After approval, sign in to the app. You can also join an existing workspace with an invite code.
If you already received an invite code, sign in or join directly in the app.
Your IT team can read the summary and test on your staging site first: IT review pack
Concrete gains for teams
- Agencies: clients comment on staging; you track one inbox with assignments and status.
- Developers: "change this" arrives with selector and breakpoint context, with less guesswork.
- Product teams: QA and stakeholder review flows as contextual notes, not copy-paste into Jira.
- Stakeholders: no technical setup. Click, write, send; replies stay in the product.
Where to start
No deep technical setup. Download the app, request workspace access, add your staging URL after approval. Most teams leave their first note in under five minutes.
What site review includes
- Comments stay pinned to the exact spot; they survive refresh when possible
- Text suggestions: select a sentence and write the revision next to it
- Compare mobile, tablet, and desktop views side by side
- Check typography, color, and spacing on the live site
- Capture and mark up screenshots when needed. The primary flow stays live on the page.
- See teammate cursors; new notes appear in the list immediately
Review board
- Sticky notes, text boxes, frames, and tables
- Freehand drawing and images
- Arrows and connector lines for flow diagrams
- Link board pages to site comments
- Your team can work on the same board at the same time
Team workflow
- Shared task list: filter, reply, and attach files
- Statuses: open, in progress, ready for review, resolved, won't fix
- Assignments, mentions, and desktop notifications
- Invite by email or 6-digit invite code
- Project summary: open and resolved work, priorities
AI integration (optional)
You can connect open feedback to an AI assistant. Setup takes a few minutes in the Integrations section.
- Create a connection key in Integrations
- Choose which project it can access and whether it can only read or also edit
- Revoke the key anytime

Alternatives and comparison
Tools in this category solve the same problem with different architectures. Widget vs desktop, embed vs board. The right pick depends on how your team works.

Install notes
- macOS: Open the DMG and drag Pinpoint to Applications. macOS may ask for confirmation once on first launch.
- Windows: Run the setup file. If SmartScreen appears, choose More info → Run anyway.
- After install, the app checks for updates automatically and downloads new versions in the background.
Download the app. Send a short workspace request; after approval, invite your team and leave the first note on a live site.
FAQ
- Who is it for?
- Agencies, in-house product teams, and anyone running staging or live sign-off. Stakeholders can leave notes without technical knowledge.
- Can I reply by email?
- No. Replies stay inside Pinpoint; context and selector data are preserved.
- How do I join a team with an invite code?
- Get the 6-digit code from the workspace owner or whoever invited you. On the sign-in screen, choose the join flow and enter the code; your account is added to the workspace.
- Can I connect an AI assistant?
- Yes, optionally. Create a connection key in Integrations and add it to your assistant. It can read open feedback and, if you allow it, update statuses.
- Is Pinpoint an alternative to Marker.io or Pastel?
- Same need: website feedback. Marker.io and Pastel usually add a widget to your site; Pinpoint is a desktop app. Open the URL without adding code. Board and screen compare come in one package.
- Is Windows x64 supported?
- Yes. An x64 installer (Intel / AMD) is available for Windows 10 and later.
- Can I create a workspace inside the app?
- During beta, new workspace access is granted through our approval process. Submit a request via the contact form; after approval, sign in to the app. Joining an existing team with an invite code does not require a separate approval.
